
Not only is Charleston rich in history, being the site where the first shots of the civil war were fired, it is also a city full of cultural diversity & fine arts and was named as the number two travel destination in the U.S. by Traveler Magazine for the 16th straight year in a row. With its great coastal location and warm climate, Charleston is a great place to reside year round. Charleston’s normal average temperature in the summer is between the mid 80’s to low 90’s for the highs and low 70’s for the lows. Our winters are relatively short with normal average temperatures in the mid 50’s to low 60’s for the highs and low temperatures in the high 30’s to low 40’s. Charleston also boasts many fine secondary education facilities such as the prestigious military college—The Citadel, founded in 1842, the College of Charleston, Charleston School of Law, Charleston Southern University, the Medical University of South Carolina, and Trident Technical College.
