Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, and Kiawah Island
All three of the Charleston County Beach Parks have a swimming area with trained ocean lifeguards between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Enjoy a fun day in the sun with the sparkling sand and cool surf of the Atlantic Ocean as you sit under your umbrella (umbrella and chair rentals available). All three beach parks also have showers, restrooms, and picnic areas with barbeque grills.

Mt. Pleasant’s Palmetto Islands County Park is a nature-oriented, 943-acre park designed for family and group use. The park is built in a tropical setting with bicycle paths, boardwalks, picnic sites with grills located throughout the park. Admission to the park also allows you to enjoy a tidal creek fishing and crabbing dock, a 50-ft observation tower with play area, dog park off-leash area, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, just to name a few.

Located on James Island, this 643-acre county park is open year round and offers enjoyment for the entire family. Home to the Holiday Festival of Lights, visitors come to this park from all over to enjoy the beauty of Charleston’s Stono River and marshland. Saltwater fishing and crabbing, grassy open meadows, miles of paved trails for walking, biking, or skating, picnic spots with grills, and a dog park with off-leash area are all available with park admission. Affordable amenities include a campground, cottages, a climbing wall, and, seasonally, the Splash Zone Water Park. Come for a day or a weekend and enjoy the great Charleston outdoors.
